Favorite way to score a point?

What is your favorite way to score a point? Mine would have to be when you extend while someone is charging at you, in which making them run right into the tip of your sword.

Show them a supposed opening, bait them into attacking you. When they attack, riposte. To make the opening seem more real, expose you arm (assuming this is epee), by lunging, and when you recover, have your arm in an exposed position, this makes it look more real, makes it look like an accident, and not just a set up. Its all about being sneaky and camoflauging with the rythm. The person that has the rythm figured out has the bout figured out.

Thats a very skilled move, I'm still working on it. If your good at it, use it, otherwise its just a waste since it requires so much point control.

In sabre, counterattack to their arm during their attack, and hit before the timeout on the box. That makes them very mad, and me very happy.

(Moulinets are a close second, they are fun, but rather hard to do against very fast people)

Oh yeah, and wrist flick in epee with an italian grip. Its not really a move so much as a gimmick to make pistol grippers stare at me funny after I do it.

Foil- counter attack so my opponent gets impaled with their hand way out of the line of target, flick to shoulder (very rare occurrence so i love it when it happens) or a simple step lunge.
Sabre- stop cut to the wrist or a parry quinte riposte.
and epee- anything that scores me a point!

Four-counter six flick to the small of the back - nothing says dominance like that.

If you can't pull that one off, i love the underhanded flick to the pinky, or the perfect-distance stophit to the pinky.

Also known as your opponent executing the, 'Here! Hit me!' attack. Gotta love it!

Mine way is to entice my oponent to attack, at which point I would retreat far enough where they can't get me but not far enough where I can't hit their arm when their attack fails.

Mine would have to be where I do 3 front flips into a backhandspring and hit a flick to the groin area as my distance pulls...

Seriously though. Nothing feel better in Epee' then a hand touch...I just love how the blade bends and the feel of it..*drools* Foil..I love marching attacks..they're just so fun and make your opponent feel dominated. As for sabre..march...stop and wait for the counterattack, parry riposte to mask or arm. w00t!

    Epee (just epee, thank you)

A good toe shot right as my opponent begins to advance. Reason? The next time things get hot and heavy, JUST as they begin an attack, I can feint to the foot, and stop their thought process as well as their advance. Talk about dominance...

Outsmart them. Anytime I earn a touch by a good set up, it feels very good.

From an opponent today: "So you set me up to set you up. Wow. Someday I'm going to go into a hobby where the people around me aren't as smart as me."

Foil - Simple Direct Attack. Nothing better than taking the tempo just as your opponent drops his weight on his front foot.

Epee - Feint to draw a counter six, disengage and score with a quick lunge as their point just lifts out of line.

Egad! I know it's just a typo, but you might want to edit that second word. You don't want to know what "felching" is...

Anyway, as to the question: whatever gets the job done. As a sabre fencer, I like a riposte off a good, clean parry. Being old , I prefer blade parries, but distance works, too.

    And Morion's.

The available avatars are limited. Some overlap is inevitable. And at least it isn't one of those annoying moving avatars.
