Last I heard Ted Li had upgrade chips for SG-12 v.1 and v.3 but not v.2. For reference, v.1 and v.3 both have square lights, v.2 has round lights (or so I've been told, ours have square lights and were upgraded a couple of weeks ago).

Anyone know if an older (10 years old maybe?) "Fencing Technologies" machine is upgradeable? I thought it was an SG machine until I bothered to look at the label recently. It looks like an SG machine. As far as I know, Fencing Technologies might be the same thing as SG. But, I don't know how to get this particular machine updated for the new timings, and *cough* capteurless saber even.

It is an SG machine- Fencing Technolgies is the manufacturer. Older (pre SG 12) Fencing Technologies are upgradeable, but may involve some extra cost (the original SG-31, for example, requires a daughterboard adapter because the PROM chip used in it is no longer available). Contact BG and give them the exact description of your machine (a fax with the serial number and even a photo would be the most foolproof way), and they'll pass the info on to Ted Li.
