| I always thought this one was cool. It's not real fencing though. |

Thanks also for the wallpapers. Especially so those of the Polish cutie. Actually, I think her pics may be good for fencing - wrist strength (sorry, couldent resist)
Cheers | "Belled" is when you're struck with the guard, rather than the blade. It's illegal, and doesn't happen often. |

| A bit off topic, but I think épée hurts more than saber, especially where mask shots are concerned.
Novice may really whip around the blades in saber, but that doesn't happen too much at the higher levels. Sometimes, but not too often.
In épée, meanwhile, to even register a mask shot requires quite a bit of force. On top of that, one of the fencers is oftentimes fleching right at the other one. And it's a point weapon, meaning the force is concentrated at a smaller area.
And getting "belled" hurts ALOT. I actually once saw a fencer get knocked out in that situaion, and in foil. (He woke up a few seconds later). |

| Sometimes I draw fencers... right now I've only got one posted at my little thingy on DeviantART, but, she's in a semi-practice/old fashioned outfit. I doubt that it's big enough for backgrounds, and I do believe that you all would prefer photos of fencers, correct?

| I just found this stunning picture by the brilliant artist Eric Tranchefeux http://eric.tranchefeux.free.fr/hy_1.htm
(it's the one in the bottom left corner, click to enlarge)
I can make out Wang of China in the background, can anyone tell me who the fencer in the foreground is?

| Check out www.fencingsucks.com ... go to the "gallery" link; there are many illustrations that may be used as wallpaper... of course, the URL name is a bit of irony, but the gallery is great....
