| Sabres with Capteur Sockets I have some old sabres with capteur sockets and was wondering if I can use them without the capteurs or should I take the sockets out of the guards completely. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| They work with them in place. I used mine that way for years before finally prying them out. If you opt for the latter, you might just want to break them off and leave the flange attached to the guard in place---you may need to hammer the broken edge flat to get rid of a sharp place. Otherwise you'll have a rivet hole or two in the guard that you'll need to fill in...
Whatever you prefer, in other words: leave them in or take them out, they are wholly useless. |

| When you short the B and C terminals together at the body cord socket, you bypass the capteur socket, so it makes no difference whether it's there or not.

| They're just common bayonet-type light-bulb sockets. ( Not body cord bayonet, but like they use for small light bulbs in cars and so forth---an L-shaped slot into which you push a small lug on the bulb, then turn so it engages in the bottom, horizontal part of the slot. ) At least what mine were. |

| First, thanks for all the answers, I really appreciate it and I'll certainly be saving some money. For Fencinman89, the sockets can be found at any Radio Shack or similar type store. |
