Array Web sites Hey... I was wondering, where is the best site to get web hosting from? I'm looking into making my club a website, and the most important requirements are that it is free, and it has no pop-ups. I dont need a point and click editor, as I am proficient with HTML. Any ideas? Especially from you FTH, as you are also a computer geek. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array I used to use brinkster (www.brinkster.com). I don't know if they have free hosting, but they have free educational hosting. Check it out. -

Array I use freewebs.com, as far as I know they don't have popups. But. The address begins with www.freewebs.com/whateveryoursite'snameis Proditio plerumque amatur, proditor odio habetur.

Array I think www.geocities.com is the best. It doen't have a MILLION ads and it's very versatile, but it doesn't have FTP anymore though sucks. I got my webhosting from www.plastic-sIut.com, it's much better, it doesn't have ads and you can run PHP and CGI. Although I don't know if you want a web address with 'sIut' in it hehe, buti f you are interested... you can go to the p-s.com address and click 'apply'. -
There are several. I'm quite sure that a google search will yield a link to a directory of webhosts, and you can usually find a decent one. -

Array Here's a few other websites similar to p-s.com: http://www.just-breathe.com http://www.white-chaos.net/ http://www.shirasade.net/
- they're accepting applications for hosting now... this is BETTER than freewebs and geocities -

Array Host your own, find a crappy box and put a BSD on it, slap a network card in, and set up apache with php and mysql if necessary. Works for me, but then again my ISP doesn't really 'know' about it and it violates my TOS, but I've been meaning to switch for a while now. -

Array Not free, but you could get your site hosted with me for $30/year. There are a couple of clubs that are hosting with me now.
