that college degree stipulation kind of puts a kink in your plans, DFP.
As to the issue of finding a coach:
I agree with the suggestion to contact the USFA (
http://www.usfencing.org ) for information. Also, askfred.net has a lot of good stuff. But also, you might check the USFA's listing of clubs in your area. Many time, a coach for one club is willing to coach for another club on a limited basis. If there is a nearby club, you might find a willing coach.
Also, don't discount a fencer with a lot of experience for teaching at the highschool level. I know some fencers who can coach very well because they have the background and ability. Sometimes they may be at a club without a coach, or with a very good coach, which precludes their needing to teach others. But they can still be a very valuable resource.
And while I think I can see why you might be asking for the equivalent of the associate's degree in credits or higher, it might also be detrimental to you to insist on this requirement. It may be that you'll find someone who is an excellent coach but doesn't have a degree. (You can address that when you get there, but I figured it was something to keep in mind.)
