| Starting a Club Hey everybody.
As some of you know I am starting a new collegiate club in Georgia. I am looking for cheap beginner's sets (masks, jackets, gloves, dry foils). If anyone knows of some good deals let me know.
Right now I am looking at Triplette's Dry Foil Beginner's Set priced at $117. I need to buy approximately 15-20 of these sets.

| Two questions before I go into my recommendations:
Are you willing to order from overseas?
What types of gear are you looking for?
I am assuming BZ cotton Jackets, 3 weapon masks, a glove and a dry blade but let me know if there are other things you are interested in.

| i pointed him to the bg set because he's reasonably new, on a tight budget, and needs enough equipment to start going for 20ish people on this tight budget.
imho, i think he could probably also get a discount from amanda and i don't think overseas is his best option atm. |

| At least not with the exchange rate being less favorable now than it has been.

| Oh, I dont know, 25 dollar lames and masks, 14 dollar jackets, 4 dollar gloves and 15 dollar dry weapons is still a pretty good deal! If he went with the right Chinese vendors he could get mask/jacket/sword glove for about $60 before shipping. :-)
If he were going with top shelf gear I would agree with you but I am thinking cheap Chinese and Pakistan type gear hear. The problems are the shipping time and ordering enough to get a good deal. I was thinking if he was starting a Univ. type club they might have an accounting office that could handle all the bank transfers and so forth.
If you are going to go with only one vendor Amanda at BG is a good choice for a bargain shopper. Their foil/saber body cords are not very good and I would not trust their house brand blades in anything other than steam foil/ epee (their saber blades being the exception) but their clothing is a very good deal, they ship fast, have good customer service and are on the same side of the country as he is. I would be surprised if he did not get at least a 15-20% discount if he signed up his club and met the minimum orders.
Going exlcusively with BG you can expect to spend about $95 for a basic mask/jacket/dry foil/glove. You can also get a good price from Fencesmart for the same type of kit for about 85-90 dollars but the shipping take a bit longer and some of the items are not quite as good as the BG vershions.
Right now Fencesmart has BZ cotton Jackets for $20 dollars a pop though so that is about $10 cheaper than BG per jackets and you may be able to work out a deal if you are ordering 20 of them.
Anyway best of luck with it all and let us know if you have any specific questions.

| You pay your $50 bucks to the USFA and fill out a form. The Insurance is about $250 in addition and it is not a bad idea for the head coach to joing the USFCA. He can get his own insurance through them and will be an "official" member of the national coaching association. It is $30 to joing I believe and about $180? for the coaches insurance.

| The USFCA website doesn't mention anything about coaches insurance (or any other type for that matter), at least not in the public portions. The USFA offers coaches liability insurance to any member. $130 for the year. Information available if you click the Coaching link in the menu to the left of the website. Is this what you were thinking of?
