Reuters have put up a short
review article on fencing at the olympics. An interesting comment is:
"The white light, which tells the referee that nobody has scored in the foil, made its last appearance at the Games before its axing next year."
I've heard that removing white lights is an idea that Rene Roch is pushing, but I didn't think anything had been decided on yet.
Then again, the writer doesn't sound like he knows what the white lights show ("tells the referee nobody has scored"?), so maybe he's mistaken about their axing, too...
