Delia,
Yes, I saw that.
Immortalized in print as a novice duffer! I'm so proud!
Actually, it was a fine article. It was nice to see that I'm not alone in my aches, pains and frustrations.

Array I wondered if that was you, Paolo. CAUTION: The heart is a fragile thing. Handle with care. -

I know what you mean. This summer has gotten up to the mid to high 60s and even as high as 75 once or twice here in Alaska!

Array Well people, I fenced on Wednesday night in Milwaukee despite the heat. The temp was 95 F or above with humindity in the 80% range. Guess I just don't know when to quit. Keep in mind that we drive about 50 minutes to get to this Salle. I fenced Neevel and lost big time but it was still well worth the trip.
Fencing here in town tomorrow (saturday) and the temp has dropped into the 70's. So much better!!!! -
If you think fencing in the heat is bad, try having to practice right next to a sewage waste processing plant. There is a air conditioned school right by, but the floor is to slippery, and we cant put out anything for a stip indoors.
Whenever the wind is coming in from there, the smell, this terrible stench, waifs over. All of us, students at least, have agreed that we need to host a tournament, and get the sewage plant to churn the tanks during bouts. The terrible smell, while nocking out other fencers, wouldent so much as faze us because of all of our traing while waiding through the stench. I pitty the person who complains about too much heat. (not really, I know about heat exaustion/stroke and all and am not about to make fun of too much heat.)

Which you can't smell any more at Bucks County Academy of Fencing - I was there Sunday and it is amazing to be able to breathe (let alone fence) on the top floor in the summer. Similar Threads -
