Epee Tip screws Out of curiosity and convenience, are Epee tip screws so uncommon that i cant find a replacement at a hardware store, or must i specially order them from a vendor? Epee Fencers do it to the hilt! -

Array in a word, yes
Those tip "grub" screws are really a specialty item. you might find them (to be ordered) at a specialty contractors store but at that point why not just get on the phone and order through a fencing vendor. -

Array The closest thing you'll ever find is an M2 set screw from an industrial supplier. However, these tend to run a bit longer than your standard epee screws, AND they have an ALLEN head, not a slotted one. So you'll end up with a specialty tool just fro your tips.
On the upside, the allen makes these MUCH easier to put in, as they tend not to flop off the head of your driver. Also, they're usually made to a pretty high standard, so the threads are well cut.

-Pepster Have you used these successfully? Do you shorten them? I love the idea of the socket head - makes so much sense. Could save on tips by cross threading them less often. Does the threaded screw travel well in the slot? Similar Threads -
