Prieur blade types

Hello,

I have checked the Prieur website but they don't explain the difference between products.

Would anyone know the difference bwteen 'club', 'gold' and 'maraging' blades? What makes a 'maraging' blade the most expensive choice?

Thanks

Also, sorry, forgot to ask.

Does a blades price indicate its quality?

With expensive blades (Prieur maraging, Leon Paul FIE blades etc), is the only benefit that they last longer or are there other benefits?

Thanks.

I would appreciate any comments as I have found it difficult to find good infomration tht can help me choose one single type of blade!!! Although, I think its great that we have such a wide choice.

if you use the search function, you'll find the results you want in depth
but since i'm too lazy at the moment to go searching for you, i'll type up a quick reply:

1) i don't really know the difference between 'club' or 'gold' blades, but i assume its a quality difference, kind of like how uhlmann has different level non-maraging blades. 'maraging' is a special type of steel that makes the blade more resilliant and also, when it breaks, it causes a more square break instead of a jagged point.

2) price usually is an indication of quality, though it is not a guarantee. blades have different batches and some have imperfections. all in all, its a gamble. i've seen new maraging blades break after one tournament, i've seen lower quality blades last for years and years. it just depends.

3) some blades have different qualities. some are more flexible and lighter but tend to take more extreme bends (bf blue blades), some are more resilliant, slightly heavier, and stiffer, but don't take the extreme bends (bf white). others have other qualities, but i'm not entirely sure about most of the others off the top of my head. like i mentioned before, search.
