High Hopes of being a fencer...but...for starters...hidy!
Hi! I'm new to this site and to fencing. I live in Tennessee and have had a difficult time trying to find some place that has fencing. Now that I have, I got to wait it out since my mom thinks it's another one of those phases that keeps me interested for a week {I wanted to play the banjo last week} but...yea...just..um...hope to talk to all of all ^.^

Congratulations on your desicion to begin fencing! Trust me, this will most certainly not be a mere phase. Once you begin fencing you will not want to stop. But don't take my word for it. Give it a shot.
P.S. Stick with the banjo as well. I've got a friend who knows how to play it (a reliable source ), and she loves it!

I'm a neophyte in the fencing world too. Trust me it's a lot of fun, even for one with such poor hand eye coordination as me:
maestro: Your weapon is an extension of your arm . . .
me: Maestro, my arm is bent at a 90 degree angle. This is a problem isn't it?
And a word about practising - don't do it on a wall unless you've got a white button or something covering it; the walls of my old apartment had to be repainted b/c it had these yucky red and blue streaks from my foil
