Have fun in the Water Cooler...

But no attacking other members. I've noticed that we are currently going through a period of "Fencingsucks". If you want to be juvenile take it there. I will be monitoring this section and will regularly close threads that step over the line. Additionally, if this continues, I will be discussing what further punitive action will be taken with Craig.

    Consider this a warning.

I should perhaps clarify that when I say attack I am referring to just plain abuisive comments.

Sometimes ignoring is for the best.

    Hello Folks,

I thought I would post this to inform everyone about a handy feature called the Ignore List. This feature is used to filter out posts by people who you normally find, unhelpful, crass, moronic, inflammatory etc...

To add someone to your Ignore List
    1. Click on the users name,
    2. You will be taken to their profile page, below their avatar [to the right] you will see Add whoever to your ignore list,
    3. Click on this,
    4. You will be prompted to confirm this, click on Submit,
    5. They are now added to your ignore list.

From now on whenever that member takes part in a thread you will not be able to see their posts unless you want to.

If a member is posting in a manner that you find annoying, or if they are 'trolling' then this is the first thing that you should do. Don't rise to the provocation.

If a user is being overly personal or offensive (i.e. in racial or other bigoted terms) then add them to your ignore list and alert one of the moderators. If a moderator thinks that something needs to be done then that moderator will act in whatever way they think is best. If we make a decision you don't like, then feel free to contact that moderator but don't be surprised if they refuse to reverse that decision.

The moderators here treat all matters that are reported to them in confidence.

    Announcement: Contacting users via messenger.

    Hello.

I know that it is a personal choice whether you wish to publicly display your messenger ID's in your profile; similarly it's personal choice whether you want to receive PM's. However be aware that by displaying your messenger ID's that you are opening yourself up to be messaged. We, the moderators, take a dim view of board members approaching other users in a manner that may be thought to be offensive. Be aware that if we receive complaints, we take them seriously. Approaching a minor and making any kind of comment that could be construed (or misunderstood) as: grooming, propositioning, abuse or any other act that my be illegal; can result in further action. This action may result in the authorities being contacted and, in short, you may find yourself in a lot of trouble

This is not open to discussion.
