| Unless your a coach, or you have some kick-*** skills to back yourself up (I mean like legendary good) your going to look pretty arogant fencing in it. It is a color typically reserved for coaches.

Any places for other coloured uniforms? | You could always buy regular whites and dye them, but yeah, black is definitely a no-no. As long as your uniform is a light color, it shouldn't be a problem. |

| It is always safer to make your color fashion statements with lame/sock/mask/glove/blade color choices. It depends a bit on where you fence but any of the above you can get away with. Just keep in mind the more traditional fencers may give you some static over it. For uniforms in red, green, blue and a handful of other colors Trilette is the only company I know of. For colored lames check out:
Uhlmann/Allstar (the German .de sites)
Blade Fencing
Infinity (at least its not silver)
ELI sports
Leon Paul
Triplette
PBT
For colored masks check out:
Uhlmann/Allstar (the German sites)
Triplette (colored bibs but not mesh that I know of)
PBT fencing
Of course you could always paint/dye your own but it is a bit harder than you would think.

| Also, wouldn't a completely colored uniform be a tad bit illegal?
EDIT: And just to save time: Inquartata hates your idea.

Light colors are fine in for US comps in anything other than a NAC or Nationals as far as I know.

| It is legal in all competitions as long as they are light or white and the torso is a solid color. Check M25.3. Now the 3 stripes on the arms and legs are a no-no, considering they are advertising for a famous brand.

| I still want a black uniform! I just don't want the ridicule even more. I do coach a little, but it's not my main thing so no reason to get the blacks.

As John Cleese said, "I got better". | Ah the three stages of fencing attitude:
The enthusiastic fresh fencer who wants it done spiffy and new.
The experienced competitor that has learned/adapted to the rules & traditions.
The somewhat jaded/cynical veteran fencer who has seen the other two way too many times.
I still fall somewhere between 1 and 2!

| Altough, you could still get the black look with black knickers and socks, as well as a black glove, black stick blade, black bodycord, white jacket.

| Leon Paul also do coloured F.I.E. mask
Also a coaching mask in F.I.E.mesh not coated contour fit black bib F.I.E. rated, but this can be used for normal fencing. |

Not to mention cotton/denim's cheaper so if the dye job tanks, you haven't lost ALL your allowance in one failed swoop... |
