Array No prob with me, Tim. I've been reading your posts for so long, I can figure it out.
Someone must've PM'ed you and complained?? -

Array Tim,
No probs with me either. My son is dyslexic also and I have become somewhat adept at deciphering his creative spelling, so yours is easy. I would think that even the most critical person would value the content more than the wrapping and send grateful praise your way rather than complaints!

Array Just tell me (I'm a teacher BTW) who is giving you a hard time about your spelling...this AINT school here. CAUTION: The heart is a fragile thing. Handle with care. -
I'm dyslexic with numbers. So I know what you mean. However, it is strange because I was never that way until about 2 or 3 years ago. Is it possible to DEVELOP dyslexia? -

Array Thank You for your support. Normally I don't let it bother me but this last one just got to me.

Array Yeah, big deal if you can't spell - I can't fence!
Haze I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

Array We've been over this before, spelling has no bearing on intelligence. I've met people who can hardly spell at all who I consider very brilliant in other areas--that includes writers and aren't we supposed to be the ones who are uptight about spelling? I, for some reason, can spell relatively well, but am beginning to doubt my own intelligence lately--unfortunately, I'm afraid the head of my department would agree too. Also, I think everyone writes worse on this board, I know I do. I write here about how I talk, which is incessantly, and not neccessarily grammatically accurate. When it is required I can write very tight, concise, well measured prose, but that requires me to get it down first, then edit it. In addition, I'm lazy here because I know I'm not getting graded, nor will it affect my reputation as a professional--okay I hope to be a pro. one of these days. In addition, some people can spell, but can't type, that's frequently my problem.
Now a few words on spell check. Past a certain point, it's positively useless. You may have seen a cartoon in your local paper that had almost all the words replaced with their homophones aka. words that sound alike and are spelled different e.g. no, know. I wish I'd cut it out since spell check has a nasty habit of doing this to you. Heaven forbid of course you should write about anything technical, it won't recognize half the words, even the ones you might think are common, but will suggest some equally obscure, yet inappropriate word to replace it. As an added gripe of mine, I try my hand ocassionally at playwrighting and then the spell check is murder. I just shouldn't use it, but I want to be sure I'm spelling things right. The problem is grammar check stops me every other line for incomplete sentences and the like because people do not speak in complete sentences most of the time--I've notice that making them do so is one of the beginning writer's first dialogue flaws. Sorry, I got carried away, but as you may notice, spell check drives me nuts.
BTW, I can't spell and I can't fence. Then we won't even get into my armoring problems, I'd cry, the rest of you would probably laugh however. Come on people, we all have our flaws, get over it.
SA if you give me the names of the complainers, I'll join Dame d'escrime in paying them a little visit. If nothing else, I'll don my "grammar and usuage Nazi" personna and make them miserable. Allright so I got carried away with the graemlins, it's late here. One cat leads to another--Ernest Hemingway.
