    Quentin Tarantino

When we had the previous thread about Quentin Tarantino directing James Bond, (something he finally send on Jay Leno recently- and I missed it!) it was mentioned that a lot of people thought Quentin has slacked off in his old age and he wasn't as good as his former work. Thursday, I finally saw Kill Bill 2. It was maybe the greatest movie he's ever made. Anyway, the next Tarantino film looks good too. It has Jet li in it. Do you guys think it'll be good or what?

I like the kill bill series, but I dont think quentin could direct something as maintstream as bond or anything else mainstream for that matter. He's a little crazy, so his work fluctuates. He's an art director.

I liked Kill Bill Vol. 1... I haven't seen Vol. 2. When my parents were watching the first one with me. My mother had a HILARIOUS stunned look on her face when Uma and the other ***** IMMEDIATELY started fighting. That part was hilarious. And that part where Uma slices off the top of Lucy Liu's head... man... hilarious.... oh god... but yeah, anyway I agree with DFP, Tarantino's work fluctuates because of his insane-ness, but then, since he's an "art director" he has artistic license. That's the part that makes him interesting.

I think People are sick of Bond being mainstream. I think they'd like a Tarantino Bond. I'm sure he wouldn't butcher Bond though- There is a method to his madness. "Hero" looks pretty good though.... I can't wait.

hero's good. It's not a Tarantino flick though. It's a chinese flick that T is bringing to the states.

    I've seen it on DVD.

Chinese flicks don't have that big a budget or special fx. The best was "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." I'm not saying you're not right, just that it doesn't make much sense.

I like Chinese movies, they're REALLY funny, the ones that are supposed to be funny, I mean. Like the ones with Jackie Chan and so on. I'm a fan of foreign films, and I like to watch them a lot. The last one I watched was the Russian Ark, which sucks major ***.

Foreing films stink, because they suck just enough to be boring, but not enough to be funny, like "Attack of the Killer Tomato."

best foreign film I ever saw was a french flick... le femme nikita I believe it was called. It was an awesome movie, which was later adapted to american in the movie point of no return.

French movies are awesome. I remember this one I saw, it was subtitled in French, and I *think* they were speaking French/German also (I wouldn't know, I'm Deaf), it was called 'Apres le Guerre' (After the War).

To check out the movie click here.

Also, you are assuming that big budgets and special fx make the movie, which they don't. Just watch the Star Wars prequels to see how they can actually ruin a movie.

And for such a Tarantino fan, I'm amazed you haven't realized how much he loves cheesy kung fu flicks.

    Street Fighter series anyone?

And for great asian flicks, how about Yojimbo and Sanjuro?

Damn you, Quentin! What part did he do? He just gave them a wad of dough to put the film in american theaters. And I knew he liked cheesy kung fu flicks. And spaghetti westerns. making a whole new form of music.

Cheesy flicks and spaghetti westerns? Add spicy musicals and you've got yourself a meal.
