| Attn: Michigan Area Fencers Just a reminder that the Renaissance Fencing Club is having it's Three Weapon Tournament and Chili Cookoff on Saturday August 11th - Fencing starts at 10:00 and runs till whenever - chili cookoff starts immediatly after. Although this is a club event (ie only club members are eligible to place) everyone is welcome - I know Dame is planning on attending so maybe we can have a fencing.net get together.
Hope to see some of you there!!!

| Some time in the afternoon/evening, I'm supposed to be at a bridesmaids get together for a friend. The one who is setting it up is calling me this week. I believe I'll see if I can make it in the evening if The Dame is definitely going to be at RFC. Besides, I have Pampered Chef stuff to deliver!

| I am flattered that you would come on my account.
I will be childless for the coming week so I am planning a grand escape from the mundane to the insane.
Shall I bring some adult beverages?

| Moon,
My plans are to come up Friday night so I will be fresh on Saturday. And then we can play Saturday night and I'll stay over.I'll leave early Sunday. It's sort of a holiday for me and the hubby. We're in no rush, so anytime you can make it will be great. Ladybug is working on a hotel for me so if nothing else we (FN folks)can meet there.
BTW I do hope there will be some other "old" folks up there to play with. One of the other posts has me worried now.
LOL
Dame

The fee is just the standard $10.00 floor fee - I think I misquoted in my tournament post. Chili is free!!

| Hey, Stanna,
I have to work until about 1pm on Saturday. If I came after that, will I still be able to get some fencing in? |

| Does your USFA membership hafta be up to date? Mine expired the end of July, but I don't want to renew yet because I have my eye on the Duelist open end of August, and I'm not convinced my card would come till then if I bought it at this event.

I know that sabre starts at 10:00am, but I'm not sure if they are going to have foil or epee second - I'll check with Todd and get back with you tomorrow on that.
Mike -
Since this is a club event don't worry about your USFA membership - to tell the truth I haven't gotten mine in yet either (and I'm the head of the Mich Div marketing committe -go figure!!)

| When I was a congress member, I never got my new card, Ladybug. Good luck getting yours!
Mike, it's a lot easier to just sign up for the USFA at the Duellist. That way you KNOW you can fence, & you'll get a receipt that you can use for other tourneys. A ton of us ended up doing that last year. It took forever for the cards to come.
Does any other division have this problem with slow delivery?

Re: Fencing times
Sabre starts at 10:00am, next is foil, then epee - no definate times.
Since youve converted to "the dark side" you should be able to make it in plenty of time - Hope to see you there!!!

| Excellent! I should come directly from work, in the heart of Detroit. (Accent on the second syllable, for those of you not from Michigan. It's de-TROIT, not DEE-troit.) Should be able to get some epee in before sampling Patrick's famous chili. Can we bring malted sport beverages? |

| YUMMY! Todd made the best, but they were all good. One even had bourbon in it. We had an even greater time just sitting around swapping stories afterwards. The comraderie was excellent. Sorry you missed it.
Oh and congratulations to F McKenzie who took tops honors!

| Frank McKenzie also got a perfect 12 o'clock turn on August 4 at the Highland games while tossing the caber. Congrats on that, as well! |
