The Clear Lake Fencing CLub takes great pleasure in announcing its 6th annual Fete de Lune veterans' tournament.
Competitions will be held in mixed foil, mixed sabre and mixed epee. Pre-registration is via ASK FRED
The event will be held at the Gilruth Center on the grounds of the Johnson Space Center (NASA) in the Clear Lake area, between Houston and Galveston.
The Fete de Lune in held in conjunction with the Johnson Space Center's annual Ballunar Festival celebration of manned flight. The festival features dozens of hot air balloons, sky diving and other events.
Awards will be presented for gold, silver and bronze places in each weapon overall, as well as for 40-49, 50-59, and 60+ in each weapon.
The awards will be presented in a post-tournament awards banquet at the Villa Capri on Clear Lake.
As with last year, a special prize will be issued to the fencer who averaged best among those who fence all 3 weapons. Last year, Ray Sexton left with a foil that bore an engraved, solid sterling silver lunette/clamshell guard. This year's prize is slated to consist of a sabre with a decorative sterling silver guard with antler grip.
