    Why do you support BUSH?

Ok. Let's give the other side a chance. Perhaps someone will point out something that I'm missing.

Because I think he has the right idea with the war on terrorism. He also doesnt seem like a total granola eatin, yoga practicin, wuss. I also just dont like kerry. Second, and biggest reason, is because my parents are liberals granola eatin wusses, and I dont like them very much, so I am conservative. if they were right wing, I'd go left next morning.

Excellent! Quite frankly, I insist that the politicians I support eat granola -- but not just any granola: The granola at 1-800-GRANOLA.com, 'cause you've got to love a granola company that has a toll free phone number, and is willing to create YOUR OWN SIGNATURE BRAND OF GRANOLA.

That's right -- personalized, toll-free corporate granola. That's what it takes to get my support!

Yes, you're so right. The best way to fight terrorism is to isolate ourselves from the rest of the world and then create more terrorists... so far hasn't worked.

If Kerry seems like a 'total granola eatin, yoga practicin, wuss' let me remind you that one of his many purple hearts was for taking shrapnel while pulling an injured green beret out of the water:
In addition, all units began receiving small arms and automatic weapons fire from the river banks. When Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry discovered he had a man overboard, he returned upriver to assist. The man in the water was receiving sniper fire from both banks. Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry directed his gunners to provide suppressing fire, while from an exposed position on the bow, his arm bleeding and in pain and with disregard for his safety, he pulled the man aboard. Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry then directed his boat to return and assist the other damaged boat to safety. Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry’s calmness, professionalism and great personal courage under fire were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry is authorized to wear the Combat “V”.

    His silver medal of valor:
As the force approached the target area on the narrow Dong Cung River, all units came under intense automatic weapons and small arms fire from an entrenched enemy force less than fifty-feet away. Unhesitatingly, Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry ordered his boat to attack as all units opened fire and beached directly in front of the enemy ambushers. The daring and courageous tactic surprised the enemy and succeeded in routing a score of enemy soldiers. The PCF gunners captured many enemy weapons in the battle that followed. On a request from U.S. Army advisors ashore, Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry ordered PCFs 94 and 23 further up river to suppress enemy sniper fire. After proceeding approximately eight hundred yards, the boats again were taken under fire from a heavily foliated area and B-40 rocket exploded close aboard PCF-94; with utter disregard for his own safety and the enemy rockets, he again ordered a charge on the enemy, beached his boat only ten feet from the VC rocket position, and personally led a landing party ashore in pursuit of the enemy. Upon sweeping the area an immediate search uncovered an enemy rest and supply area which was destroyed. The extraordinary daring and personal courage of Lieutenant (junior grade) Kerry in attacking a numerically superior force in the face of intense fire were responsible for the highly successful mission. His actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.

The Bushies will claim that the injuries were mere scratches on the arm or the thigh. Hey, let's totally discount the fact that he volunteered to go there, he was there, he was injured 3 times, HE PUT HIS LIFE AT RISK TO SAVE ANOTHER MAN. The fact that he was close enough to take shrapnel 3 times. I guess that's not enough.

George Bush's silver medal comes from the spoon in his... um mouth... that he was born with. He is a guppy swimming amongst sharks. Cheney got 6... count them 6 deferments. Of course, now they have the courage to send other people to die...

Do you really think Bush enjoys the body count?
Draft dodging didn't seem to be an issue during the previous administration.
Also the constitution is designed for citizen rule not military rule.
All servicepeople are volunteers, not victims and are overwhelmingly in support of Mr. Bush.
Can anyone advise me how to do the point by point quote response thing? Apparently I don't know how.

I'm probably going to regret this, but the way I do it is to push the quote button and then insert a "" where appropriate.

I come from a strong republican household, but I still gave Kerry a big chance at winning my vote, but I just can't believe everything that he says. I hear Kerry is kinda distant at times and I want someone who is like me, talks like he is speaking right at me. And I seriously don't think Bush lied, which Micheal Moore and other dems say. (That O'Rielly interview REALLY made me hate him even more..)

If you disagree on Bush lying about WMDs, try try to think back to after Sept. 11. Top people of the intelligence agencies are telling you that Saddam has connects to terriorsts and has WMDs that he will use against the nation. These are TOP TOP officals. How could you not take what they are saying is true? How in the heck are you suppose to know that they got bad intell? You are suppose to trust these people. It would be a CRIME NOT to listen to them about your country being a target to some idiot oversees. I don't see it as him lying, just him getting really bad intel from his gov, British, and Russian intel. I mean really! 3 big intelligence agencies saying his has them, you have to act. That is the job of the pres.

(Ps. was reading an article on CNN.com about Gen. Clark, who was saying that I think some stop Saudis were talking to him about Saddam and that he was going to make WMDs and use them. Makes you think huh?)

I can still see some plans that Kerry has made as the same as Bush's, but I still don't know how he is going to do it. I don't know. I think we should wait till the RNC comes and then we can really make these threads work.

WOOO..... big thread. Hope you got through it alright.

They don't like to hear it and will start asking you if that makes it ok for Bush.

By the way, on tax cuts:

Oh please, the GOP tried to point out Clinton's faults as much if not more so than the dems try to point out Bush's. In fact, I was shocked they didn't do so in the last election.

Just a suggestion: In these political threads when the topic asked is "why do you support so & so" maybe it would be wise not to cut so & so down, but allow people to express their thoughts. Another thread stating "why NOT to support so & so" would probably be better. It just seems like this thread (& the one on Kerry) is being used to set people up to get shot down for expressing their reasons for why they think the way they do. It's may be a silly suggestion, & (knowing what I know about the media) objectivity may not exist, but it's worth a try to let people say their peace sometimes without challenging them. Otherwise, it tends to turn into an argument.

    Just a thought.

Odd. I haven't said that. I (and very few people I know) won't defend everything Clinton did. He was wrong in certain cases.

I'm pointing out that your defense of Bush is, 'Clinton did it. So it must be OK.' is ridiculous. It makes you sound like a little kid.

And to be honest, people at the time weren't concerned with Clinton's military record because we weren't at war. That's how the democrats put out the attacks from the GOP.
