Steve tells me that liability suits that receive serious attention in the
States are laughed out of court in Oz.

I can believe it's cultural, and even if it isn't a topic for this forum, I
find it interesting. Speaking of culture defining things, culture defines
the nature of fighting in any society - late 19th century duels, for
example, are fights, but they are not no-holds-barred fights, because the
culture won't support it. Marozzo taught a system of fighting that was
appropriate to the needs of his culture, but that probably wouldn't address
the needs of, say, the antecedents of the Bolognese in Etruscan times. Etc=
    ,
    etc.

    Re: [CFML] Insurance

insurance for fencing (sport not classical) in south australia is horrendous
for individual clubs - one small club here with mainly young people was $700
aust. for a year approx. but our state fencing assoc. is going to take out a
blanket isurance policy for the state (public liability) which will cover
the fencers who are registered through the assoc. which is a serious saving
considering registration 10 per person and even a licence (world fecing lic)
    is only 50...
There are only (did i say only?!?!??!) 5 clubs in S.A. and not that many
fencers, still I only received an email telling me they are doing this not
that it is confirmed (as yet )
