    Allstar, Uhlmann Sizing

I'm buying an Allstar lame... My previous lame was Uhlmann and I was wondering if my Uhlmann size is the same as my Allstar size. Also, is there a big difference between Allstar and Uhlmann lames? Thanks in advance!

Concensus seems to be that they're for all intents and purposes the same lame(material etc) however, the cut of allstar lames tends to be thinner than uhlmanns.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of if there is a big difference between a size 40 Uhlmann lame and a size 40 Allstar lame, but thanks anyways.

It depends on how your built.

I wear the same size in both uhlmann and allstar. The difference being how loose the jacket/lame is around my belly. Allstar is a much closer fit, but then I'm somewhat trim.

I know this girl who is, very, um...curvy.

She prefers the fit of Allstar since the uniform fits snugly and doesn't make her look large. Thing is, she wears a size or 2 larger in Allstar than Uhlmann.

Makes no sense to me, but that's how it is...

It might be helpful for you to know that some of my club mates - not all, not unanimously - contend that Uhlmann's are better in terms of longevity.
When I say not all I mean not to say others claim the opposite but simply do not regard this to be obvious, or have never had both brands.

I can tell you that I've had an Uhlmann for over two yeas now and it's as good as the day I bought it.

Okay...I'm going to go with the same Allstar size... I don't know about the Uhlmann lames lasting longer but I'm relatively thin so I think I would prefer the Allstar cut. Thanks to everyone who replied!

In my experience, the Allstar runs smaller than the same size in the Uhlmann line. International website catalogs for both entities have sizing charts. Check those before you order.
