Array Hey Sam, I just saw the pic of you and DK in Palm Springs and I think I was in your pool!
Was there a guy named Salter in it? And Randy Bruno was in it too.
I'm afraid I lost to Kellner as well.

Array Purple,
I looked at your pics and was pleasently surprised to see Don Benge in your group. I was lucky enough to meet Don at Nationals in Chicago in 1988 while we were both watching electric sabre demos. (It was brand new then.) He introduced me to his Conquest game, and I bought a copy from him then (after he beat me at a quick game). I used to order medals from him, too, until he stopped making them. Is he still in the game business? I remember Triplette had Conquest in their catalogue for a while; is it still?
For those of you who like strategy board games (like Axis & Allies, Risk, etc.), Donald Benge's Conquest is an awesome game! -

I'm afraid I lost to Kellner as well. Really? Cool. I wasn't doing the purple socks thing yet. I don't remember Randy Bruno, but Patrick Salter was the only guy I came close to beating. Derek Cotton was our director.
Small world, huh?
p.s. EVERYONE lost to Kellner. You should'a seen the gold medal bout (if you left for the day). he took Zaddick Loganbach apart.

I think he's still selling them, yes. Donald will probably outlive all of us. he's a sneaky old bugger.
'Course, it woudl help if I stopped doinghte same thing against him all the time.
*sigh*

Array Sam-
Yep, that was the one. We were on the finals strip, or at least the one nearest the BC. I remember derrick now that you mentioned it. I recall looking to him for help when Kellner was hitting me in the 8 with flicks meant for my back. I began working on that immediately. I eventually lost in the 32 to Joshua Keckley-Stauffer.
Is it me, or is Palm Springs the best NAC every year. Small wonder the USFA decided not to have it there anymore!

Array Well...belated thanks for the spanking I received. That was my first big tourney...and I came in dead last out of about 120 people!
Actually, I think it got moved from PS because the city was starting to screw the organizers. You'd have to ask Randy Bean about that.
