I was watchin "Down to Earth" on TBS(for those of you who get that channel ando/or are are American) and commercial comes on, and it's some weird thing I was payin attention except like "where would you be without it" so they go through all thse sport clips of canoeing with no padddles, the runners with torch, tennis no rackets, running with no shoes, and boxing with no gloves, and near the end they shot this guy in a half-lunge just poking this guy about 5 times and he's standing there like "Duh...where'd my epee go?" I just think I'd share that becuase it was pretty funny.

THAT'S the ad I've been trying to remember!! I saw it weeks ago but couldn't remember what it was for, tried to tell my husband about it but couldn't remember what the point (ahem) of the ad was. Was starting to wonder if it was one of those Toyota '25 years of ESPN' ads and I just forgot the 'other fencer' was really a pickup truck!

Nice to know I haven't completely lost my mind (yet)...

And Mr. Biggs, I must confess to pulling a coupon insert out of the Sunday paper yesterday to show my husband, not just because it had a fencer on it but because the bellguard was scarred up -- it was a real foil!

It was a Foil. The blade was in the middle of the bellguard, and it was rectangular as opposed to Y-shaped.

i loved both the ad and the picture. it's sad that's the most coverage that nbc seemed to give fencing though...i seriously die laughing every time i see the commercial though!
