I am sure you are joking. Besides to New York City, there is more and stonger fencing than almost anywhere else in the US.

Go to the USFA website and click on the "Where to Fence" link. We have a number of clubs and venues in the LosOrangeDiego area.
Perhaps one day, you and I will cross blades in Long Beach. Unless you're one of those benighted beings who fences epee or sabre [/obligatory slam at other two weapons]

Where in SoCal do you live?
Yeah - I live in SoCal, and I know of at least 3 or 4 places to fence (admittedly, 3 of them are different locations for the same club, but hey- fencing is fencing.)
