| Go Green! with Fencing.Net, plus latest updates to the site. I am extremely happy to announce the introduction of our "Premium Member" program.
Many of you have asked how you can help support the site. Well now you can and get a little something in return. This program is for you!
For a one-time PayPal monthly payment of only $24.00 for a year, (or monthly recurring subscription of $2.00/month) you will receive the following Fencing.Net benefits, and our undying thanks:
1) Your member name will appear in green in all of your posts, and in the "Who's Online" listing (like the mods are in red and writers/experts in orange now).
2) Your PM box will increase in size, to 500 messages maximum (InBox and Sent Items combined), and you'll have the ability to PM up to 30 buddies at once.
3) Your Avatar size will increase to 100x100 pixels and 20k in size.
4) You'll get a custom title to replace "Member", "Senior Member" or "Just Joined".
We feel that the benefits we're offering for Premium Membership are a great value for you, and a great way to help us by supporting the site. If you're interested in signing up, please go here: http://www.fencing101.com/vb/subscriptions.php Edit: 2/13/05: Some people have asked about using a credit card instead of PayPal. I have set up the option for the annual membership via credit card at the Fencing.Net online store: http://www.fencing101.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=124 Okay, I signed up, but my Username isn't green. What's up?
Sometimes you have to edit your profile to reflect the green username if you want it to show up.
How to do this: - Click on User Tools
- Open the User Control Panel
- Under "Miscellaneous", click on "Edit Groups"
- You will then see a selection choice to show you as either "Supporting Member" or "Registered".
- Choose "Supporting Member" and you'll see the username color change on your next post/login.
Thanks, everyone!
**Please note, we are NOT removing or changing any access or settings from regular members. The whole idea of the program is to give something extra to those supporting us, and not to take away services from our current members. Latest Updates
I moved the Journal and Arcade links to the Quick Links menu and moved some of the User Control Panel links from Quick Links to the "User Tools" menu. Please take a couple of minutes to mouse-over the menus and get a feel for where everything is.
Cheers,
Craig

| Woo-hoo! One small advance for a fencer, one giant ballestra for fencerkind. Congratulations on your big leap into legitimacy! I can see huge future benefits as the premium membership stuff grows, so I'm in.
I know we already have a lot of things going, but don't hesitate to let me know when you need extra hands. |

| If only I didn't spend all my money fencing instead...
Maybe someday.

| Good idea, I hope a lot of those rich, nyc fencers join up. Maybe when I finish school and get a real job, I'll make a contribution. Until then, I'll continue to leach off of the hard work of others.
But I do wish you the best of luck. |

| I think this is a good idea, but I absolutely refuse to use Paypal. They still refuse to delete my account even though I've requested it numerous times for the past few years. They also make it extremely annoying for me to actually start using my account again.
I suggest a credit card payment method. Maybe people could "buy" donations from the fencing.net store.

| Upgraded to vb3.0.3 - there seem to be a couple of issues with the arcade and journal - I'll work on those most likely tonight.

| Craig,
I can't access my reputation data--just the number of points I have. This used to be on the User's Control Panel but when I click the link for User's Control Panel under User Tools I just get a blank screen.

| I'm rather happy I can't access my reputation data. It bewildered me, and reminded me that I don't mind if people talk about me behind my back, just so long as I don't have to know anything about it.

| Hmmm.
1) As we all know by now, I don't go in for color very much.
2) I seldom get or send PMs.
3) I can take or leave avatars.
4) But the custom title thing, this is most tempting! Oh, to be Board Curmudgeon in name as well as fact.... |
