Want a forum for your club?

New feature that I tossed in at the request of fencerontheline - forum hosting. Any other clubs interested in having their own forum section hosting here?

I'm working out the final terms of service, but basically you get a forum for your club and it will be hosted here - all normal forum rules apply. Forum owners get to choose their own header (so you can put a club specific theme in place) and you can link directly to the forum from your club web site.

Let me know if there is interest and I'll put up the link.

    Craig

I think this is a wonderful idea, both for fencing101 AND the clubs. There hasn't been much response -- perhaps after summer nationals people will check in. I think my college club could use such a resource also.

Purdue Fencing Club and River City Fencing would probably be interested.
You have two opponents, the one standing on the strip, and the one standing to the side of it.

not too many people in my club use this site -guess i'll just have to tell them!

sounds like a good idea though.
Fencing will always be a "for love of the game" sport.

I need a good arse kicking to get better, faster!

While many of the smaller divisions such as mine don't have the numbers to make a club forum worthwhile, it would be great if we could have a forum dedicated to the division.

Out of curiousity, would there be any costs?

I think it's a bad idea. I think it pretty much takes away from "board unity". Just as you have people posting just in Fantasy Land I think you may find people will post only in their clubs forum. If a club needs a forum they should build their own on the clubs site.

    :-D

I think a forum for those divisions interested would be a good idea, especially if the leadership in whatever division realized what a useful tool it could be for keeping in touch with their fencers. Craig this means you hound the people up there in Atlanta to use it .
