The Uhlmann blades I've seen haven't been whippy, though no foil blades mad=

today are quite as stiff as I think they should be. There's probably some
variability in the production run.
I too use the FL Italian epee blades. Instead of a dummy point or unwired
electric point (you know, if I'd wanted to be an electrician I'dve gone to
trade school...), I found steel "Chicago screws" with the same thread pitch=
..
I cut the flange off the screw, leaving a threaded tube, and glue a button
over it: much lighter. Better still are points d'arrett, and I think TCAS
might be starting to make a screw-on P'da. I've made a few P'das of my own=
,
but you should talk to TCAS.
