| I saw this doing a search on fencing on Google. I'm very new (only been doing it for about 2 weeks) and was looking for any help I could get.

| aisha Hello all,
I began fencing 6 months ago along with my two sons, 12 & 14. I am a historian by day (ABD at UIUC) in Urbana, IL and a fencer by night. Did you know you can teach Western Civ through the history of fencing? I found this site via Google.

| I began fencing in 9/2004 after watching my daughter's first several practices. I needed to get some good exercise and this looked like fun........
Now I'm addicted.
I found the site by mention in the club (NWFC in Portland, OR), and I think it may also be on their website. |

| After having decided to give it a go, I started surfing the web. Just entered the word fencing into the google search machine. Indeed a wonderful invention.
The site has many interesting infos - but indeed quite US oriented. But then, seems normal to me, after all that's where its been established, isn't it.

| First found it through the old internet link dance, don't remember where I actually started, but is was while looking for some weapon repair info. Then promptly forgot about it once I found the info I was looking for.
I rediscovered it when Googling to buy some equipment and was looking for some product reviews to help in my selections.
This time I signed up as I found some of the info very useful.
Cheers, |

| I was talking with my friend Brett (Epee Scherma) and he mentioned the site and recommended I check it out. So I did, the very next day. Which was today. w00t! |

| Hi!
I moved from r.s.f. to fencing101 when Edew mentioned the existence in an email.
Have a nice time!

| I just typed "fencing" and this was near or at the top of the list. I found the forum section much more comprehensive in its ability to answer my questions than the Fencing.net site itself, so this is where I spend most of my time.

| How did I find it. *thinks* I can't remember ...Arhggg, I've been brainwashed! Who would be sick enough to brainwash me? What did they want me to forget? Am I part of the witness protection program?
No really, I can't remember; I have a really bad memory. I might have gotten hear via google search "tattoo designs." Don't ask me how.

| I am designing a high-tech target, and someone posted a comment on whether any such targets existed. I linked to that post from Google, and signed up to ask what people want in a target.
I've known of this site for a while, but never really got into the forums side of it untill recently. |

| Howdy y'all! Was just tooling around looking for gear shops that ship internationally since I just getting back into the sport after a 5 year hiatus-i.e since moving to Japan. I googled black fencing gloves and a thread popped up talking about color in your gear. Saw what I liked and thus here I am. So yoroshiku onegaishimas! |
