Array people with years in activity should get something to the tittle. 1 yr, 2, 3, 4, 5, ect. something like elder member or whatever you find cool. it was my one yr anneverserary a few months ago (didn't even notice) i found out through google too just typed in fencing. Fencing will always be a "for love of the game" sport.

Array Well Moon, weren't you here like a year, maybe two before I was? Geez I'm old too.
I found it by searching for fencing sites at random when I first got interested in fencing. "Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory." - George S. Patton -

Array I used google as well. I got links to this site when doing various searches to find out about quality of fencing equipment and vendor sights. The product review section was what I was looking for, but I found more useful info in the different discussion threads. The members are very nice and helpful, which is what made me want to be a member! -

Array I had just started fencing and was doing research, typed in fencing.net,com,org, and all other variations looking for sites.
Found this one.
Didn't realize till well after I first came here that there was a board tho. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Array I honestly don't remember how I found this site since it was some time ago...
I think I just entered the word fencing into a search engine to see what came out.
I suppose it took me to the main fencing.net site (which in my taste is too US oriented) but I was happy to find this forum which is very vivid! -

Array I get to blame the USFA* for sending me over here. I roam through the links on their vendor page every few months and this weekend I finally decided, 'Oh what the heck'.
*Okay, okay, US Fencing or whatever they've changed their name to. They were the USFA when I got into the sport and it still amuses me to refer to them as 'oosfah' so... -

Array Being as I am an old geek, I first went to Usenet looking for a fencing board. I used to lurk on rec.sport.fencing and this board was mentioned by somebody (edew, perhaps?) as a more active place. I lurked here for a while before joining the festivities. Array Fencing clubs im not new to fencing at all..but for some reason, it has taken me 20 plus years to get into it at the level I am now pursuing. My father was a national level foilist and competed internationally in the early 70's but I found fencing.net via a search for club listings here in the U.S. -

Array I've been fencing for the past couple years and only just these past few months actually looked up this site! Better late than never. I used www.go.com under the search heading of "Violent but fun Activities" and BAMM!! (is it spelled with 1 or 2 m's?) here I am with you fine folks! Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs Italian, the mechanics are German, the lovers are French, and its all organized by the Swiss. Array I was searching for some information about jackets and knickers, and
came across a thread from a search engine (Alta Vista, not Google)
and started reading around the forums, eventually I started posting.

Array From a reference on fencingforum.com. I caught this morning morning’s minion, king-
dom of daylight’s dauphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Falcon, in his riding
Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding
High there, how he rung upon the rein of a wimpling wing
In his ecstasy! then off, off forth on swing,
As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding
Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding
Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing! -

Array A very weird link from the Emory University club site, through an Australian fencing site they had a link to (which parsed foil fencing in a relatively simple way), to you, if I recall correctly. Glad I'm here. -
I found it because it was listed as a link on my club's website (www.coeurdescrime.com) "On Guard": the paranoid state in which the fencer believes everyone is out to get him. Similar Threads -
