Searching for child's chest protector

I have an 11 year old niece who needs a chest protector to feel secure fencing. She won't wear the small women's sizes that they have at class because she says they're too big and she won't walk out looking like 'Barbie'. Do they make children sizes? Even a boys chest plate would work better. Does anyone know where to find these?

a good selection including a men's extra small. You might consider ordering a women's small as well, because it won't be long...

The women's models are very sturdy and will last until outgrown. I'm not familiar with the men's.

Blue Gauntlet has the same XS men's chest protector as Physical Chess, about $8 cheaper. This is the model we got for our 9-year-old and it fits her fine once you strategically put knots in the (or re-sew in new) elastic straps. (Straps on even the XS are still sized to fit an adult.) As an A-cup myself , I actually prefer wearing a men's chest protector to the women's "Barbie" style and have found these to be quite comfortable and durable.

The kids called it the "Brunnhilde," not the "Barbie," at our club. I sympathize with Island Fencer's niece, though when my daughter was 8 everybody else wore them so it didn't bother her.

Try www.fencePBT.com They have men's women's and boy's sizes for chest protectors. Alot of the small kids in our club use them and they seem to fit pretty well.
