Are you hitting with one light yet? You seem to be content to "just get the touch". You also mentioned that who ever is directing doesn't seem to be able to make the call consistently. Setting up the attack / second intention, to be sure you hit, and only you hit is valuable. Everyone knows the ambigious ref who uses a coin to figure out right of way. New fun drill for ya. Your touches only count if it is one light! It is most likely very difficult or impossible to have your counter attacking opponents see the light and actually pary repost etc. Make sure when they face off with you they have no reward for their style. Been fencing mostly epee lately.

so, you've seen the light, i hope. its the one true weapon!! (although i myself do foil from time to time but only to supplement my epee)

I do epee to suppliment my foil fencing but lately the amount counter attacking retards at my place has increased so I just fence epee to avoid them.
