Slick Synthetic Lame?

Good evening Gentleman, Ladies, have a question if you wouldn't mind:

What's the durability/conductivity of a lame with metallic vs "slick synthetic" fibers? I'm doing some bartering and have the option of either. Which would you choose if both were offered at the same price?

Cheers!

It depends on the manufacturer.

Also depends on the composition of the metallic lame. Huge differences between copper and stainless steel in terms of longetivity.

I assume that "slick synthetic" is the type of material used by Triplette (and likely others) for non-metallic lames but not the material used in an Infinity lame (which would take the conversation in a very different direction).

But yeah, manufacturer makes a HUGE difference in quality.

Took your advice and got the manufacturers of the lames: metallic is from American Fencing Supply and the synthetic from Triplette.

What do you think now?

I'd definitely go with the AmFence lame unless there was additional information (it's 5 years old with heavy use and the Triplette is brand new). I haven't been too impressed with the Triplette lame that you're talking about and AmFence definitely is quality.
