| Time for summer nationals predictions thread! With the confirmed entries up on usfencing.org it's about that time to post a summer nationals predictions thread.
I'll start off with a prediction that Brad Baker will make top 4 at div 1-a MS.
For div 1-a WS I would put Ash Dewey in the top 4 as well.
Beyond that, I have no idea.
My goal is to win div 2 MS, but I'm not going to predict it as I did last year and I feel short. But I do hope to run into the guy who knocked me out last year 14-15 and have a rematch
Anyone else?

| i also similarly can't predict the 1a's (and don't know much else about the 2 or 3s) because there are a lot of good names in their respective pots.
i'm really pushing for at least top 8 in div2 me, because i couldn't go to our sectionals to qualify for div1a, i earned my B after i qualified, i royally messed up getting at least top8 at the arlington nac (see the worst bouts thread) and its the only event i'm fencing by cruel, cruel luck. |

i think she'll probaby win div3 ws, since she's entered that too but skipped div2....(maybe its the same day as 1aWF, which i'd think she would probably win as well)

| Darn right--I wouldn't have predicted it if her name weren't on the list of entries.
She's done sabre before for fun.

| Hot dang, how'd my name show up on one of these threads?
Isaiah -- we gotta have a rematch. Let's shoot for the 8 of D2MF, and loser buys dinner. (And if that somehow makes you ineligible for NCAAs, you can always go to college in Rochester and fence with us!)
Glad I'm fencing D3 *MEN'S* sabre ... would not want to be in Dr. Ann's path!!!

Is it usual for each coast to skip the other coast's turn to host the Summer Nationals? Or is it usual for only a small percentage of those who qualified to actually register?
From the ones I know of, I will guess at Div IA ME:
1. Manske
2-4 in no order
Chinman
Cox
Rees
I am probably selling the East Coast too short, but I am not really familiar with them other than by name. |

| 1A Men's foil, my vote is for Anatoli Senic. I'd have to vote Marsh for sabre. |

| Despite my woeful record predictions-wise, I will venture some sabre guesses:
I-A MS: Bret Martin or Bryan Jackson, just because I'm familiar with their fencing. But beware of Russian names, so maybe Stetsiv out of NY. Or despite his last place finish in the Grand Prix Vongries ( last place in some elevated company, after all ).
I-A WS: Peach, despite her modest forwarding of la Marsh.
II MS: Tough, because there are so many unfamiliar names, and Div II is typically a surprise-filled category. But again on the Russian-name principle, Krivosheev out of Georgia, a sobering combination despite his youth. ( He'll probably turn out to be a rank novice, of course. )
II WS: Bother, no Russians! And I am still less familiar with the women in Div II. So at a guess...Annunziato? Or one of the Oregon Battalion.
III MS: I break my own default rule and go with Hochard over Krivosheev. But this is teetering way out on a limb...
IIIWS: Now I'll say Marsh...or Kruglova, judging by you-know-what.
Vet 40 MS: Juarez or Barbour. Have I a really good day, me ( he said oh-so-modestly ).
Vet 40 WS: Rita Comes?
Vet 50 MS: Waugh! No Korfanty, no Yung, no Mormando? What gives? OK, so either Struk or Lara. Of the two, Lara.
Vet 50 WS: Peach again.
Vet 60 MS: Sexton or Hall.
Vet 60 WS: Hmm, a real puzzler....
And I'm too spent to bother with the bazillion under-whatever categories or teams... |

| At last actual predictions, thank you
And it gave me some ideas as well.
For vet 60 MS I'll put my word in for Bill Hall. He's been fencing alot that I've seen and he's been moving really well lately, less static footwork. Watch out for the former world champion.
Vet 40 WS my money is on Robin Pernice to repeat.
