| America West does generally have the cheapest rates. However, you ALWAYS have to connect through Phoenix, if not other cities as well. AW has the worst maintenance record in the industry. Not that the flights themselves are unsafe. It's just that there are a lot of maintenance delays on the ground. I made two trips to Nevada and back in December and January. On both trips, one leg of my flight was delayed for maintenance problems, causing me to miss my connection.
AW has code-sharing arrangements with Continental, so if you book with Continental, you may end up on an AW flight. You could have the same maintenance delay problem there too.
That said, as long as you allow for this in your travel planning, enjoy the cheap fares. |
