    Triplette Shoes

Just slightly off topic, but has anyone had a pair of the Triplette "high quality Hungarian shoe" they hawk? I've had good luck with Triplette equipment in the past and need to move up from my indoor soccer shoes.

    Thanks

A few people at my club have PBT fencing shoes and they love them. They basically (from what I understand) have 2 models. They are basically the same but the newer model tred lasts a lot longer and goes further up the shoe. The older model had this whiteish tred that wore pretty fast, the newer one (also more expensive) has a yellow tred and from what I hear, everyone at my club likes them.

old ones i have were crap, the tread wore like crazy and the sole did too...i was wearing away at them from the outside and inside. it was crazy. still have them. they're useable, but they have some new insoles from the store to try and slow the inside wear. my adidas shoes lasted much longer.

lemme tell yah, i got two pairs of shoes from china made from a company called li ning. Some of you may have heard of them: best things in the world for the price you pay. li ning has two models out, which i will refer to as the old and the new, i have them both. The old one is white and blue/purple, the new one is black and white. The soles of the two shoes are of the same material with the same basic design (rounded heel, leather along the front portion), and i've had the "old" pair for about 2 years now. oh yeah, that's right, 2 years of continous active and competitive fencing, and they still work now, and i'd say i put more stress on my shoes than most. The new pair is lighter than the old pair, and seems a little less durable, though they've held up pretty well so far and offer the same performance with less weight.

I know this was about the new adidas shoes, but i couldn't keep my mouth shut.

I've heard from a lot of people (even straight from a couple hungarians themselves who usually praise PbT to the heavens), that the PbT shoes are bad. The one bad thing I've seen firsthand from some other fencers is that they seem to wear REALLY easily.

anyway, i have a pair of the silver bullets in hand right now
not my size so i can't really try em on
they actually look a lot more neat in person, though they are different.
both heels are more padded though the soles do seem a little harder than usual.

You know, the stand alone photo I thought they look hideous, but on the photo's of people wearing them, they don't look so bad....

I have seen these up close, and they're not all that pleasing to the eye. honestly, i thought the assyms. were too "busy" and these new ones would look better with white instead of silver, but ohwell.

and if the shoes are so made for the olympics, why would anyone want to wear them anywhere else anyways? no offence to them at all, but it just seems like you would be paying all of that money for benefits you cant reap. unless you live in greece that is..

which makes me wonder..what does Adidas have against Greece? are the climate and strips not good enough that they have to make whole new shoes?! what is this?! jk.

leave me with my Li Ning's and I'm fine..

    ADIDAS Factory Outlet Store

If you are going to be visting Orlando, FL and Disney World over the summer the ADIDAS Factory Outlet Store at the PREMIUM Factory Outlet mall has the D'Artagnan I's for sale at $39.99. I picked up two pair! They also had some much older blue striped shoes with almost entirely nylon uppers that were very flimsy.
Please note that they are at the PREMIUM outlet only! Orlando must have 3-4 other stores in the area and this is the only one selling fencing shoes.

Dude, share the wealth... go down to that store, buy up every pair of fencing shoe they have and put it on ebay or something!

ok so i am wearing the new silver shoes right now. and they are le awesome. very comfortable, they fit my foot much better than any other fencing shoe i have worn. they are a little stiffer than my old shoes were, but im sure that with a little breaking them in, they will soften up.

and for those of you who thought silver wouldnt match anything, im sure it would match your lames wonderfully. plus, silver doesnt look too shabby with an all white epee uniform.

Tiger, I actually know someone who has those, but in black. He likes them enough.

As for the new shoes, I think they are ugly as all get out, and they look like a step back in technology from the asyms.
