    Grasshopper on extending arm

Grasshopper says: when attacking, never totally extend your arm. True master knows that proper attack finishes with slightly bent arm.

While your other two suggestions are pretty dead on, this one needs some caveat. I would never say never. There are some instances where a fully extended arm, and the sooner the better, will come in handy. Certainly, you don't want to pull punches, but sometimes, the quick fully extended arm (and I'm talking about foil here) will give that person the priority and the preference of the referee.

    proper?

who cares about proper? if its legal and its gonna get the job done, do it. if u need an extra inch to reach your opponent why not extend fully? true master is not too bright.

I have missed too many touches b/c my arm wasn't fully extended and relaxed. So I'm gonna have to disagree with the whole bent arm thing.
