News Source

What do you use for your primary news source?

I can't get more than 10 choices for the poll, so I am missing a few sources. And no, The Onion is not a major news source.

Good poll.

I also listen to PRI (Public Radio International), and Great Lakes Consortium. "Other" could be Internet news (real news not like... Bonsai Kittens) - Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, S&P, and CBS; I view these stories through www.iwon.com or at work.

Hi!

In my case, the "other" is similar Swedish news. Lets see which news source originating outside the residence of the respondent gets the highest number of votes!

Have a nice time!

Google News, BBC News, The New Yorker, ABC/CBS/MSNBC, AP, and Slate. The local television news I use primarily as an excuse for grading papers and a source of information about laxatives, remedies for impotence, analgesics, and heartburn medicines.

blue_falcon will become famous soon enough
CNN, CBC Newsworld, CBC, BBC World, sometimes the New York Times, Netscape (which gets it from AP, Reuters), CNN.com, and for some interesting comments and articles, Harper's Magazine. For fencing news, www.fencing.ca and, of course, fencing.net!

Sadly, most of my news comes from right here, from all of you. I could go to the bother of looking through news websites, but I don't really feel like it. I'm sure once I'm "on the outside" I'll get a newspaper, and have a TV, and so will be as well-informed as I was in high school.

In the meantime, hwoever, you all are the perfect way to take the left-wing nutcases and the right-wing nutcases, and sort of average them out to just a kind of general flying nutcase.

That's odd. I remember having to memorize the front page of the NY Times back when I was a plebe.

Oh wait. Air Force. My bad.

Oh, we had to learn our articles, too. We couldn't do anything like that, though, for lack of newspaper availability. However, since I'm now a 3-dig (as of yesterday), I'm definitely not worrying about it.

Maybe I'll use the 4-digs next year for my news source...

Mostly internet sources, like yahoo and others. I don't watch much tv and newspapers cost money.

I listen to Rush for news.I feel like Rush Limbaugh is a source of balanced and unbiased news, and fair reporting.

Ok, probably not, I get most of my news from internet, some of it from the Daily Show.

For me, the "other" is from magazines like the Economist and the Spectator (the UK one, not the one with similar name in US). Primary sources are NY Times and occasionally WSJ

It looks like The Outsider is a fan of Minsc and Boo!

What if we get our news from a combination of sources? Can we pick more than one in the poll?

I read a lot of those. "Other" for me: news compilations from internet sites like Yahoo, which pull from wire services and other sources, and "The Economist" and the like.

My family beleives that no news is good news in our society today, which is true if you look at the paper. Occaisionally, my dad will come home and start going into a rant about lawsuits or something (he's a doctor, so it's personal to him), and we just look at each other with "oh, man. Dad's read the news again"

Anyway, if something important happens, like September 11th, it's impossibile not to hear about it.

So I don't get my news from anywhere, and I'm a happpy person because of it, as shown by these happy faces: !!
