cool, the girl on the right seemed way to short to be counter attacking like that though

The "girl" on the right is Valentina Vezzali, multiple world champion, olympic gold medalist and one of the best counter attackers in the business. Too short has nothing to do with it... she rocks.

Hey Craig, maybe I'm missing this, but is there a place on fencing.net where you've put links to all the great clips that you and Walter and others have posted? That would be really convenient, especially for folks (unlike myself) who don't spend a lot of time reading all the posts.
Well, after actually watching the clip, I realized that this was the bout that elicited an interesting set of remarks by Walter on Vezzali's footwork in a thread a couple of months ago . It really is an interesting technique. I'm mesmerized by it and love the contrast in styles between the two.

Not yet. Right now you have to search the threads. I'm working with Walter on getting an archive set up of video clips for Fencing.Net to host. We're just figuring out what the potential overhead for the extra space and bandwidth will need to be.
Throwing together a bunch of links to videos would be fairly easy, but me being how I am, I want a better way to organize them and have people be able to sort by keywords and such.

Craig, who is doing the commentary on this dvd?
Tomas
Guillermo Alger (esgrimamex.com) put this together - the main commentary for this DVD was Alex Ripa (if I picked up the name off the clip correctly.)
I think he did a great job on this DVD. There are some really cheesy one-liners and some really good ones. He does a pretty good "john madden".

People have mentioned it, but this is the first time I've heard the commentary -- it's wonderful! It integrates nicely with the fencing, and the timbre & phrasing is very sports announcer-ish. I was reminded of James Levine, who does (or did) commentary for operas at the Met.
It's really funny too. The one that got me was the very end of the bout: "That puts a nail in the coffin for XXX"
Of the commentators - this one was the best. It was also the one most recently done, so there's been a lot more time to think about style and gather feedback.
