    Dos Santos Grip

I was checking out the Negrini website a few days ago and there was a curious looking grip I had never heard of before. The site called it a Dos Santos Grip, and I have yet to see another place that carries it, (like Allstar and it's English Grip. I asked my instructor about that one and he had never heard of it.). Anyone have any info on this thing?

That is because it is a grip that has been ruled to not conform to the current FIE/USFA rules.

I regularly fence a guy who still uses the Dos Santos (dry). I remember in HS we had several of them. They are like a french grip with two finger prongs (ala belgian grip) and a fin that the rest of the fingers rest on, then the normal french grip pommel nut. They're really good for angulated attacks and blade work but because of the fin on them you could hold them quite comfortably about six different ways. They were also made in funky ugly semi-translucent colored plastic.

Cool! Thanks for the info! I think I may get one just to fool around with. It sounds fun!
