Array I'm confused - every once in a while this thread is marked as 'just changed', this morning supposedly last updated by firebrand, but when I look at it I don't see a new post or an edit from today. What's happening?
Not to mention, I still haven't been able to parse any meaning from the preceding post. "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -

Not to mention, I still haven't been able to parse any meaning from the preceding post. It's the poll effect. If someone votes in the poll the thread comes back up as changed even if no one added any text. -

Array No, the time on the "last post" constantly changes to a newer time in the thread list.
When I go to that thread, it's frequently an old post with its correct time now showing. "Let him live upon what belongs to him without wronging others, and accommodate his expense to his revenue."

Array hmm. as in, someone has edited what they had previously typed??? It's a possibility.
Firebrand:
Hmm. Yes, I do happen to remember that chapter and verse now that you point it out to me. However, I think your interpretation of the events is a little bit off... but that's personal opinion and the most abundant reason that we have so many christian denominations in this silly world.
I sometimes have trouble reading 1 and 2 Kings. God and the prophets don't always act normally in those books... *blink* the prophets do strange things that don't make sense, God says weird things... There's this litany of evil or corrupt monarchs everywhere... I just usually take everything in those books with a grain of salt and try very hard to keep the big picture while glossing over some of the more minor deviations.
*shrug*

Array Strytllr, have you heard of Randy Clark? He preaches in St Louis. And Joyce Meyer too. -

Array Joyce Meyer rings a small bell... Can't remember where I've heard of her. I've never heard of Randy Clark at all. That's not too surprising though. As a catholic, I don't get out too much... hehe. All that following the pope's evil edicts and whatnot. j/k. -

Array Ah. yes. The er... pope has kinda issued a Papal Bull (hehe, I love that term) to the effect that evolution is correct and not incompatable with the christian god.
In any case, why why why is this thread still active? I was making/refuting these arguments back on page 5 when I was actually interested. A bible quote for you, then: "...usque huc venies et non procedes amplius..." -Job 38:11 Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo,

Array I have always liked the story of Coyote wandering around and humans formed from a piece of **** he was kicking around. -

Array Lewis Black had the best pro-evolution argument ever (he performed at UMass this very night). It went:
"Fossils!
fossils!
fossils!
fossils!
I win." Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo,

Array I promote your observation, but it's useless without physics and chemistry to describe what's there and how it relates. Geology and paleontology are to physcis and chemestry as statistics is to mathematics...structures used to make inference from data.
