Worst case I would suggest bringing blue & grays and offering your services as a walk-on referee during any days when you're not competing. It'll give you the experience, let the FOCs get to know who you are, get you observed for a ratings increase, etc. Have you taken/pased the test in epee or sabre? If not, that would be a smart step in July as well.

Array yeah, but the problem is that my travel plans depend on whether I can ref or not. . . My ref rating pisses me off, I got a 7 because the only practical test I've had was an E foil tournament in Vermont, where Jon Moss said I made every call except for one correct (and in that one I still gave the touch to the right person, just called it weird) but I still get a 7 because of the level of fencing. . . And later Wieslaw Glon (really good ref and coach at Penn State) said I did a good job refereeing and said he was going to write me some letter to the FOC to get my rating upped, but that didn't happen. . . So I'm left looking like crapola. . .
I have emailed Sharon Everson twice, I wouldn't mind if they didn't let me ref, but please would they let me know one way or the other!!!!!

The last national event he refed was the 2003 NAC in Arlington, one of the most competitive junior events I've seen. He was dressed in an electric blue silk suit, so much for the USFA's clamp on clothing. Of course, that was his last hoorah. He's a full time coach (go figure) now. -
Quicktime Better Than WMA, AVI or MPEG Just to second what someone else has said, please keep the video clips in Quicktime. Higher quality and better compatibility with different platforms.
