    Really Interesting: Online Political Test

This is probably going to lead to a flame war of some sort, but this test asks you loads of questions, and gives you your political compass.

One number from -10(Libertarian) to 10 (Authoritarian)

    And

One number from -10(Left wing) to 10 (Right wing)

I was -5.25 to the left, and -8.10 towards libertarianism.

    Hurrah! Flaming liberal lefty!

From what I've seen in this good old water cooler, a lot of people with enjoy it.

This was indeed quite interesting, Thanks.

-3.62, -3.82 (that is in the left and libertarian directions.)

    Cool.

Hmm, I might try the test again another time, my libertarianism is a bit on the extreme side, maybe i'm just having a rebellious spell. ;-)

    I guess I'm a right-wing libertarian!

Once again I surprised myself at my placement in the political grid. I must be going through a spell of sorts too!
Very interesting and thanks for posting.

They change the questions - I took an incarnation of that created by the libertarian party and was the first to ever receive a -10,-10 a few years back. This time around it was a mere -10,-9.49. Oh well, you can start toasting me if you wish (by which i mean flaming, but i figured i'd put something that could be construed two ways in case some people actually find my leftness laudable).

I'd at least like to think that i'm pragmatic in my idealism - too often the left pisses me off more than the right because they have no concept of the real world... then again, given this test, do i?

This grievance comes from those who aren't aware that British and American spellings sometimes differ.

We've been at the centre of some rancour, but we're not going to take offence or harbour any grievances. The catalogue of complaints won't colour this organisation's programme. It's a grey area anyway. And we don't want to labour the point.
    LOL!!! That's GREAT!

btw, I must say that I would have a lot more respect and confidence for this site if it were willing to divulge its methodology. otherwise, it's just one more opinion.

Well, not to disappoint you, dear boy:

    Economic L/R -0.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian 0.67

There were questions that needed some more of that famous liberal nuance in the choice of answers tho.

congratulations! care to revise your statement that you're closer to Bush than Kerry? regardless of whether that poll's definition of center is right, the relative positioning is likely to be, and you are to the LEFT of Kerry, and WAY left of Bush, at least according to what you just posted.

It seems to me that the poll is skewed quite a bit to the left, in any case, and some of the questions are leading.

What's leading left about questions like: "Do you agree that corporations should ravage and pillage the poor unsuspecting and law abiding taxpayers so that the rich can get richer? Agree? or NOT!"

I don't know, care to reconcile your embrace of it following my response to the one above?

I have to agree with Telkanuru about it being so skewed.
Again, it lacked nuance in the choices of answer. Something you should appreciate.

According to the chart, I was exactly in the middle (slightly authoritarian) which is where I've always said I was.

The results have absolutely nothing to do with which candidate I prefer.
