Pink Body Cords Hi y'all, I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything.
I was recently at a tournament and saw these body cords with clear plastic plugs. And the plugs were pink. Now, the ladies on my team thought that these were just the bee's knees, and I thought it would be a nice, friendly gesture to aquire some for them.
Here's the bad news: I have been unable to locate these cords in my online searching. Has anybody else seen these, or know where to purchase them? It would make a pair of fetching young sabreurs very happy...
Thanks,

Array I don't think anyone makes them anymore, and when they were made I believe they were an incarnation of BGs mr. chen easy to fix body cord.
I used to have a couple myself, and while it may be true that they were "easy to fix" they also fell into the "require fixing constantly" category. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

they were mr chen's "easy fix" ("easy break") cords. they may still have them around, could call and ask if its really a high priority. -

Array Why not just paint the little dealies pink? Its not rocket science folks. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -
mr chen's stuff was transcluscent. unless you have some see-through paint...
besides, non-professional paint tends to chip (and usually looks crappy) -

Array colorful bodycords there used to be a fad of buying colorful mountain climbing rope, taking the inner rope out and using the colorful casing/sheath to cover the body cord. looked cool, but i'd think it would absorb the sweat & possibly lead to corrosion of the body wire. -
Thanks for the info. How often do these things break? Is it just the wires pulling out of the contacts, or do they self-destruct on the strip?
I don't want to end up putting their cords back together after every bout..

Tenebras The most frequently-breaking body cords I've ever encountered. Not NEARLY worth the trouble just to impress a couple girls. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they were actually sold by Blade/Fencesmart/et.al. They looked a lot like the Mr. Chen cords because of the translucent plastic plug bodies, but the did not have the exposed screw-heads and separate removable sections of the Mr. Chen design.

-Dave The regular Mr. Chen cords are junk. The pink ones must be junqué. They are indeed easier to fix when the wire pulls out or breaks, but become worthless when the expanding ferrule on the pins fail. -
As long as the wire itself isn't busted can't you just get new pins? -

just give it to him and he'll fix the cord for free.
but thats not the point. mr chen won't be on strip when your cord fails. -

My cheapass $13 cord form BG hasn't failed me yet, but I havn't tried the easy-fix, and I don't think I will.
And isn't it uhlman that tries to sell fencing equipment with sex on their website (that is, they have female models posing in gear)? Somehow, sex and heavy padded full body clothing seem incompatable...
Oh, and "the bee's knees" is quite possibly one of my favourite descriptors ever now. The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -

Rope or cord? In my time ropes usually went for a lot of money (150 & up). cord was cheaper, but still a little much to tear apart. Quidquid latine dictum sit altum videtur

Array Climbing rope is typically $0.75/foot or so. For 4-ish feet, it's not to bad. The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde Similar Threads -
