    NBC Olympic coverage

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4688145

Am I seeing this right? Are thay actually going to SHOW this much fencing....or am I misreading this listing?
Need fencing equipment? See me at H.O.M. Fencing Supply

Well..................... it does appear to be near the olympic schedule (mayenb not a tv listing), but it does say complete coverage above, and why else would they have times for eastern AND pacific???

It seems possible to me... I'm in huuuuge shock.

It does seem possible, and that would be really awesome.

    Here's hoping.

    Wow.
That can't be possible.. (note: jaded)
Perhaps someone other than me should email them to confirm that that is actually the schedule for time when fencing will appear on tv.
If it is, I might have to write in a bunch of requests for time off work now..

It DOES sort'a appear to be a listing of the competition times...not the coverage....but still....*crosses fingers*

It's just the competition times. It's good of them to list them, but you can bet that if it comes down to a choice between airing coverage of fencing versus airing coverage of beach volleyball...

Please, 500 bucks says that's just the schedule.

Take August 14th, for example, basketball, boxing, cycling will be happening at the same time, guess what are the chances that NBC will choose to air fencing?
Maybe, perhaps, likely, possibly, probably, potentially.

That's definitely not an air time schedule. That's only a listing of event times. I'm not sure they have released specific air times for events and these times will vary and be pre-empted based on the focus and quality of the events... ie possible American medals.

the first day alone ia more coverage than NBC has given fencing in the past 20 years with 1988 being the best year with about 40 mins total . This cannot be true. If it is Ill be taking some time off.

Somehow, I don't think they're quite on the ball. This is who they list as American Olympians:

    FENCING
    Men Age Residence
Eric Hansen 29 San Bruno, Calif.
    Colin Parker 22 Fayetteville, Ga.
    Keeth Smart* 25 Brooklyn, N.Y.
    Akhnaten Spencer-El 25 New York, N.Y.
Alex Wood 26 San Francisco, Calif.
    Women Age Residence
Kristin Foellmer Suchorski 29 Chevy Chase, Md.
    Sada Jacobson 21 Dunwoody, Ga.
    Erinn Smart 24 Brooklyn, N.Y.
    Felicia Zimmerman* 29 Rush, N.Y.
    Iris Zimmerman* 23 Rush, N.Y.

Well it looks like a good deal of the fencing events happen at like 3 am to 9 am and such, so maybe NBC will televise fencing then, when most people are asleep. . . We can only hope!!

You know, that thought struck me too, when I first moved to DC. I'll have to find the history on this.

Methinks that the town came before the actor...

Like "Truth Or Consequences" in New Mexico, which renamed itself to a TV game show!
