    Saber WC Padova results

Italian fencing web site has final results for individual WC saber:
Classifica finale: 1) Serguei Charikov (Rus)¸2) Dennis Bauer (Ger)¸3) Diatchenko (Rus) e Mihai Covaliu (Rom); 5) Vladimir Lukacenko (Ukr), 6) LUIGI TARANTINO (Ita); 7) Zsolt Nemcsick (Ungh); 8) Damien Touya (Fra), 9) Stanislaw Pozdniakov (Rus)

And Jason Rogers defeated Ferjancsik to advance to round of 16!!

(-my interpretation of what it says below, with a little help from Babel-Fish)
"Le sorprese non sono mancate: la più grossa delle quali è stata l’eliminazione di Domonkos Ferjancsik , campione uscente del Luxardo, ad opera dello statunitense Jason Rogers (10-15) già nei sedicesimi di finale. "

It's good to know our fencers can take down the giants of the world like that. Ferjancsik is an amazing fencer, by his amazing comeback the hungarians barely lost to the russians 44-45 in the world champs after being down 35-40 at the start of the final bout vs pozdiakov.

Any idea how Ivan Lee, Keeth smart, or any of the other americans did?

Pozdniakov didn't make the final 8? Who kicked him out?
With infinite complacency men went to and fro over this globe about their little affairs, serene in their assurance of their empire over matter

He doesn't ever really seem to give his full best in WCs

It actually seems like he's been going down hill lately. This past world champs he didn't do all that well either.
Maybe he's saving himself and hoping to peak for the olympics, but I believe a couple seasons ago he did something amazing like only losing one bout all season to covaliu.
