"Very well, then. Now that you are feeling a bit better, perhaps you can tell me what drives you to turn and run now, and I can address things."

"I didn't want to 'turn and run', but I don't want to see you all fighting each other," Meekal stated, trying to remain calm. "If the rest of you don't want to get anything done, why should I? This wasn't my idea in the first place. I could be back in Arconia instead of watching my friends try to kill each other."

"Slow down," Nękos instructed. "Take things one at a time, and stick to individual actions - not the motives you assume from them."

"All right...how would you explain the fight between Rosaline & Darion? Or the fight between you & Rosaline? What about Zelda?" Meekal rattled off in one breath. Then, he added in a softer voice, "There's more, but we can start with that."

"Rosaline and Darion, I do not know," Nękos responded. "All I know is that by the time I returned to the scene, she was attempting to murder one of my men. So, I intervened and began repercussions for attempted murder. I have no idea what happened with Zelda; she apparently did not react well to the news that I took from her shoulders the very burden she complained of."

"So as I said, everyone was trying to kill one another when we were supposed to be working together. Not knowing the circumstances, you can't blame me for my frustration," stated Meekal. He began to feel a little less angry, but then he thought about something else & the anger began to return. "And you can't blame me for wanting to go to my wife, who probably has received a very rude awakening when she realized that she is not, as she thought, in charge. You could have informed her. And if you don't trust her to run a kingdom, why on earth would you encourage us to marry? She's queen now. How am I supposed to feel about all of this? I'm worried that all of this stress will harm her or the baby."

Rylus quirked a brow at Nękos and then nodded to where her weapons lay scattered as he had thrown them.

"You butchered her for them, I guess they're rightfully yours for the time being aren't they." He spoke evenly and without emotion before turning on his heels to check on Sarah before Nękos could tackle him too.

"Swordsman, the Queen was being difficult. She refused to return with us, even after we tried to subdue her." Darion told him. "She told us to give you a message: Betrayal is forgiveable, but it should not happen to be forgiven."

"Yes," he conceded, "Rosaline did for some reason turn homicidal. I do not blame you for your frustration. But I would expect that you might try to resolve the situation, instead of simply giving up. That is why I do not yet trust you to rule, either. So, again, we come to the very reason I wanted you along."

"Fine. I'm here to learn. I'm hopelessly inadequate. I realize that. And my wife is, apparently, just as useless. But she deserves a chance to learn too, and not have to get stressed out by a lack of communication about it," Meekal returned. "And as far as the situation between yourself & Rosaline, why should I get involved? What's the use? That was your fight, not mine. You're supposedly her superior now."

"Your wife will learn to manage a kingdom without having the full authority - just as most queens would as they grew up in the court. This is as it should be. You should not by any means be involved with the situation at present, but neither should you turn away. You still have a reason to be here. And you can observe all of these situations, and learn from them."

"I observed, and I know I shouldn't be involved. I didn't want to be involved. That's why I decided to leave. I was, and still am, needed at home," stated Meekal. He crossed his arms, vaguely aware of the blood still on his hand. "And unless I have a good reason to stay, and see some progress being made, I fully intend to leave."

Nękos sighed slightly. "You said the reason yourself. You are not yet ready to rule. This is the way to fix that."

"You said it when you told me you didn't trust me. That's hardly a vote of confidence." Meekal snorted. Then, he added, "I'm not as stupid as I seem, Nękos. Is this your way of forcing me to mature? Kill my father...get me to marry the most spirited girl in the kingdom...bring me out here to deal with the most insufferable conditions...? I'll end up old and dead before long!"

Without a smile: "Welcome to the burdens of leadership. I led you to kill your father, because you needed it. That was something you had to do by your own hand, for reasons I cannot explain - but you will begin to understand them eventually. I never 'got' you to marry anyone - I helped you marry the girl you loved, and who loves you. But yes, I bring you out here to deal with the most insufferable conditions - which, I promise you, will get worse before they get better - so that you might learn to be a man, a warrior - and a king."

"For that, I thank you. You've put up with a lot from me &...well, you-know-who," Meekal said grudgingly. He looked away, unsure of what to say next. Then, he said, "So what to do now?"

"It's just my thing," Nękos dismissed. "Now, we retrieve Rosaline's weapons so that she does not recover them before earning them back, settle chain of command issues, and then move along, hopefully before the survivors cease to be such."

OOC: GRRR go on a posting spree while I am stuck in a flying tin can will ya.....

    IC:
Zelda sat in the tree after her would be captors had left, brooding. Seeing the village so devestated had bought back many memories for her, most of which she thought she had successfully forgotten. But obviously not. Her head spun with sounds, and sights, soon she was caught in the swirling memories, her own sense of being slowly being engulfed by memories of a time she had tried so hard to forget.
Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls!

Rylus moved back to where Nękos and Meekal were, having checked on Sarah and Mr. Quinith. He eyed Rose's weapons breifly before turning to Nękos as he finished walking.

"Swordsman, we really should get them to a doctor." He spoke evenly as if he'd never layed eyes on the two elderly wounded and as if the man he was talking to hadn't threatened to kill his sister.

Nękos looked over quickly, eyes sweeping over the man's wounds. "Actually, I disagree. I am no medic, but from experience I would say that moving him any more would cause more harm than good. We should bring a doctor here."
