"'Cracked', indeed," Meekal muttered at he closed the distance to his horse. "I was cracked to come on this silly journey. I should be at home with my wife, not listening to all of these people argue." In his haste, he tripped over a stone & swore profusely. Once he regained his balance, he found the offending thing & snatched it from the ground. "I'd like to see someone try to attack me," he growled, hurling it through a window before he continued walking. Yes, it would be nice to fight again.

For sake of expediency, Nækos simply hurled Rosaline's weapons aside as he sprang to his feet. A warning point at her - "Stay out of this, no matter what." And then he turned, sprinted a few feet, and dove, tackling the new king of Muu to the ground.

Rylus rushed over to help his sister stand. Rosaline thanked him and brushed more blood from her face. She looked up from her hand to see Rylus moving towards her weapons.

    "Rylus."

He turned to look at her and she shook her head.

    "but he'll . . " He tried to argue.

"I know, for now leave it be." She replied quietly.

Rylus mummbled something she didn't catch as she moved back to the rain barrel. She examined the small circular cut on her forhead from the first time Nækos slammed her head into the ground and the small dagger cut on her cheek in the reflection. Sighing she splashed more water on her face to clean the cuts a little and then grimaced at her now muddy hair. She'd deal with that later.

"Where's Zelda?" She asked, just then realizing that she had gone and McNair and Devlinn had gone after her.

The first thing Meekal felt was the impact of a body on his back. The second, the ground, after being hauled sideways from his feet. As they rolled once or twice, Meekal managed to adjust himself to make full use of his arms. Dust in his eyes to make him unable to see the attacker, he lashed out with his fist.

Nækos laughed as his head snapped back from the commendably solid punch, and promptly planted an elbow in Meekal's chest. "Come on, boy, you wanted a fight?"

Darion and Senyik mounted up and reluctantly headed back to the group. Neither wanted to say a word, they could barely bring themselves to do what had been asked . . . no, demanded of them.

“Darion,” Senyik began, quietly. “Who do we take orders from again?”

“The Swordsman, of course.” Darion replied, knowing where he was going with this. “We are only doing this to avoid further confrontation for now.”

“She treated us like dumb brutes, do you realize that? And we’re still doing her bidding.” He retorted sharply, clearly not pleased. “We had the upper hand in that fight, all she does is climb a blasted tree and she feels she has the authority to spout orders.” Senyik clenched his fists tightly around his reigns. “I swear Darion . . .”

“Believe me, the queen did not get on my good side just now either. She better hope that the Aiovus Strike Force never engages in open combat, for then she will surely not escape prisoner’s bonds.”

They emerged from the woods which they had pursued the queen through and spotted the group not far off.

“Swordsman!” Senyik called, literally forcing the words out of his mouth. “We bear a message for you!”

Rosaline turned at the sound of Senyik's voice behind her. She looked back to the tangled mass that was Nækos and Meekal.

"He's rather indisposed at the moment, you might have to wait. Where's Zelda?" She replied to Senyik.

"Zelda did not see . . . fit to join us. We must speak to the Swordsman." he looked over at the brawl going on between him and Meekal and frowned.

"Yes, I see that, but where is she? Is she dead on the road? Stuck in a tree, what?"

"Voluntarily in a tree." Darion replied flatly.

Rosaline furrowed her brow and stood silent for a breif moment.

    "erm alright, which way?"

He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder. "Try if you wish, but the two of us have no desire to play the roles of asylum orderlies." He replied, completely fed up with the whole situation.

    Rosaline nodded.

"I'll bring her back. Oh and do tell Nækos that I'll be back shortly?"

Without waiting for an answer she ran to where Shadowmaker was grazing on a small patch of grass, quickly mounted and let Shadowmaker go full gallop to the direction in which Darion had pointed. Once to the first trees, she slowed her horse to a walked and looked up into the trees for any sign of her friend.

    "Zelda?" She called.

Meekal grasped Nækos at the collar, & threw him off, jumping to a crouched position himself. His eyes narrowed. "And I'll do that as soon as I'm finished with you." This time it was Meekal who leapt onto the Swordsman.

Nækos rolled with the impact, sending several blows into the top and back of Meekal's head on the way down, and a kick once they'd landed. Once back on the ground he forced Meekal away to distance and kicked him in the stomach, receiving a shot to the face in return. As Meekal's fist drew back for the next strike, it carried blood with it. A second later he punched Nækos again, this time bringing a bit more blood back on his knuckles, and then again.

As fast as the battle had begun, it stopped. A shocked look came to Meekal's eyes as he realized what he did. He glanced at his bloodied hand & began to back away. "I'm leaving now," he said, his voice low.

Nækos lay in the dirt, licked a bit of blood from his lip, smiling. "Feel better now?"

"How can I feel better watching allies fighting? Or fighting a friend myself?" Meekal asked, both astonished & angry at the question as he stared down at Nækos, vaguely aware that his friend's blood dripped from his hand.

"You got mad. I know there were things you wanted to say to me." Nækos spat, and it landed red in the dust as he slowly picked himself up. "You were angry, and not really thinking. Now you have had a chance to let some of that out; do you not feel a bit better?"

"I..." Meekal began to say what he thought was proper; that fighting would not solve a thing. But in truth, a little part of him felt better afterward. "...yes. Slightly. But I'm still angry," he admitted.
