    We Will Survive!!!!

    Just in... The IOC announced it is not going to be eliminating any events from the Olympics through 2012!!!!! Phew! That means pentathalon is also safe.

    Nope, sorry, a relative let me know after they had heard it on the news and read it in the paper. I haven't seen the story myself.

    According to this article, from today:

    "...that all 28 sports now in the Summer Games will stay in the Olympics at least through the Beijing Games in 2008."

    and

    "The IOC has said it plans next year to review the status of each of the 28 sports for the 2012 Games."

    Whereas, this article, from yesterday, quotes IOC president Jacques Rogge as saying:

    "If any sport wants to come in, one will have to go. But no sport will be excluded before 2012."
