Well, it all depends on the fencer. Some people like St. M and others like Lamet (sp?). Try diffrent blades and see which one you like. Good luck on your hunt.

it all depends on what you view as good qualities in a blade
vnitis are top heavy and flick easily and have a long life, but are slower to return from a flick and can get worked in so much that sometimes they wobble on beats and such.
Mr. P pretty much said it. It all depends on what YOU think makes a great blade. I think for me and for many fencers the Vniti is the best compromise of durability, flexibility, and balance. It is a bit heavy but it last forever, they come in a great range of flexibility so you can almost always find what you want, and they do go all noodly or take weird bends anywhere near as often or as bad as most other IME.
Having said that the LP flickmaster is a great blade, as is the BF FIE blues. Both are lighter and a little bit faster, but neither seems to last anywhere near as long. For an FIE blade for less the new Priuer blades are not bad. They are light and flexible but they do take bends badly and I have only had one for a few months so I can't say much about its durability except to note that it has already take a bend to the left and in the middle.
For a middle of the road blade I think the Vniti is the best. If the quick flick is your game, or you like lots of tricky bladework, an LP FM or a BF FIE might be better for you. It all depends on how deep your pockets are and what you want in a blade. I will say that if I had an unlimited source of money to spend on fencing I would probably us the LP FM or BF FIE as my first line tourney blades.
Hope that helped!
