Until I stumbled upon this thread I never new this part of the forum existed, and I kind of wish I did not know! I have never used it or put any stock in it, and I think most people on the board do not know about it, so if you have a less than stellar rating Iwould not sweat it at all. Seems to give way to much power to trolls and those who prefer to be petty. Lets all just pretend this feature does not exist!

its not as troll-empowering as you think. but yes, at the moment its rather useless and only a cosmetic/social feature. would be nice if it had a little deeper effect of some sort, imho. but not too much.

Just how does this reputation system work?

A new registrant to the forum has the starting option to rate a member from +1 or -1 points.

For every 180 days you've been registered, you gain +1 reputation-altering points.

For every 500 posts you gain +1 reputation-altering points.

For every 100 points of reputation you have achieved, you get +1 reputation-altering points.


Here are the conditions to rating other members posts:
You must have at least 50 posts to rate.

You must have a minimum reputation of 10.

You may only rate 20 posts within a 24-hour limit.

You cannot rate the same person twice until you rate at least 15 others.

I starting to leaving rep. points when I can remeber too. If someone says something relavent or kind, I think I'll be sure to give them some points.

My points have been on a rooler coaster and are swinging around 10 points different per day. if you like what I post please help "swing it" LOL

If omeone is out and out rude I think I'll do bad rep. points but only then. I think it is wrong to give out bad points to people for expressing there views.
